Emerald Coast Blue Marlin Classic The Emerald Coast Blue Marlin Classic at Destin is a world-class sportfishing tournament headquartered in northwestern Florida’s Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort. The annual billfish tournament is held each June during the Gulf of Mexico’s peak season for blue marlin. Teams entered in the Emerald Coast Blue Marlin Classic compete for a variety of awards, including cash prizes for the heaviest blue marlin, dolphin, tuna and wahoo. Over $1 million was awarded in the 2007 tournament, and gives serious angling teams their shot at winning a royal pay-off while receiving the royal treatment from the event hosts and sponsors. The Emerald Coast Blue Marlin Classic at Destin is a “modified release” fishing tournament. A maximum of 80 teams is allowed to enter the annual event. Emerald Coast Blue Marlin Classic Dates
